Our Programs
Here at Enchanted Forest Early Learning we are committed to providing a developmental and educational program which caters for each child’s individual needs, abilities and interests from our Nursery through to our Kindergarten room. Our program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and will continue to develop as we use the relationships children have with their families and communities to extend our knowledge of each child’s needs and abilities. We will work in partnership with families, to ensure each child’s ideas, culture, current knowledge and interests are the foundation of our programs.
Nursery
Care, support and collaboration with families is most important for our littlest Enchanted Forest family members as they take their first steps in their early learning journey. Our Educators take extra care and time to build on their connection with our babies, so they feel comfortable and safe in our care. We follow each individual child’s routine as closely as we can and use these routine times to make connections, supporting and extending their learning and development.
Toddlers
Our Toddlers are continuing to develop their independence, self-help skills and individual identities. We support them in doing this by including them and encouraging them to play an active role in their everyday routine; e.g. making their own bed and feeding themselves. We also involve them in interest-based projects, to further enhance and challenge their learning and knowledge. We value child and family input and encourage family involvement in order to gather a comprehensive and holistic view of the child and their developing skills.
Junior Kindy
We know that children learn effectively through play and this is supported by Educators who are present and who are diligent in their responsiveness to each child’s interests and needs. Applying strong intentional teaching practices provides the children with an authentic and meaningful learning environment which challenges, supports and nurtures each child’s development.
Pre-Kindy
We encourage children to have ownership of their own learning by offering choices in experiences, interests and routines. We use conversations, actions and play as the basis for learning and teaching. This involves the children being partners in their learning as we seek out and challenge their ideas, opinions, thoughts and questions.
Kindergarten
In our Kindergarten room, our qualified Early Childhood Teachers use the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) to guide the program and prepare your child for the next step in their early learning journey…Prep. We know that the first five years of a child’s life are the most important and formative for their development. It is a time when they learn the skills they will use throughout their life and we place a strong focus on Social and Emotional wellbeing. Our hope is that by the time they enter Prep, they are confident and engaged learners.
